"I Realized Yesterday That I Am Not Immortal and My OCD Is Making Me Obsess over My Future Epitaph" by Ally Wharton
on my tombstone i don’t want to be memorialized.
don’t dress me up on my wedding day or funeral.
i want to be stripped to the bone.
i am a blank slate.
an untouchable column wrapped in ivory
pricked with the thorns of my own skin
hollowed from the black holes of my own body.
don’t tell me i deserve to be loved when i push you away
i am not a shakespearean tragedy.
don’t tell me i am pretty when i write with my own blood
i am the only digger of my grave.
